A Group B driver would have to run the set over first, then deliver whatever is left. /sorry

I’d still be pissed that they tried to deliver a package that requires a signature 3 days in a row between 1 and 230 pm... WHO THE FUCK DO THEY THINK IS HOME DURING THESE TIMES TO SIGN?! UUUGGGGHHHHH

Counterpoint: their workday starts at about 6 or 7 am every day. It wouldn’t exactly be fair to them to have to stay on duty 10-13 hours to wait for people to get home (likely not getting paid for that extra time they’re waiting, because most aren’t paid by the hour).

If it helps, most shipping companies let you pick up packages at their distribution warehouse (the one the delivery trucks return to at the end of the day). You can also have it sent to your nearest UPS Store/FedEx Office/etc where you can pick it up at your convenience.

their delivery schedule as posted on their notice is from 8 am to 8pm. it’s perfectly reasonable to expect packages that would requires signature to show up during hours some one would be home. most frustrating is 90% of my packages show up after 5pm normally. which only makes all this even more frustrating. this is also being delivered by not my normal fedex guy, it’s some other dude in a van. even more annoying, I had a god damn other package delivered at 6:15 last night by my normal fedex guy... like dude just give it to my normal guy, I have no idea wtf is going on over there... I’m glad I got my $20 air pump yesterday but I want my fucking $1200 engagement ring and would prefer it not get sent back and then not have it by the day I need it! and I’d pick it up except I work 8:30 to 8 and the damned store near me closes at 8... uuugggghhhh but the misses would be home to sign, even if she thinks it’s for a bacterial culture not her future ring :)

I’m currently out (delivering, in fact), but I'll be home in a couple hours and can give an insider's perspective on how it works

Oh, and FedEx ground or FedEx express? Because it does make a difference.

I’m not sure, it just says fed ex 2 day. I don’t understand why there’s a 2nd guy involved with getting packages to my house and my normal guy and I have a good understanding on this topic. could be the value of the item or something?? all I know is I order stuff and it shows up, the few times things have been sent requiring a signature my normal guy just.. well i don’t wanna get him in trouble but he earns that $100 visa gift card every Christmas and that’s all I’ll say.

What are the colors on the tag, purple and green or purple and orange?

Best guess on why there’s a new second guy is that the amount of packages being shipped this year is about 20% higher than the amount of growth the experts expected, and it’s caught all the companies off guard. The second guy is probably a new or on-call hire brought in to work the overflow. That’s also why he’s working out of a van instead of one of the standard trucks, because the additional hires have resulted in there being more drivers than vehicles. If the new guy’s coming to your house it means your neighborhood isn’t part of the area your regular driver is working that day. As for your understanding with your regular guy, all I’ll say is you might want to make that a $200 gift card.

As to the tag saying delivery hours are 8 to 8, that’s not the time frame most drivers are out, 8 PM is the latest a driver is allowed to be out before incurring the wrath of the D.O.T. (and a four figure fine to go with it). Most drivers are back before 5, and anyone delivering until 8 is having a very bad and very long day (by which I mean 12-14 hours).

Oh, this is a different courier service. 20-min delivery, 24/7, all terrain, and if it’s late or the items are even just slightly damaged, it’s free!

They even have bulk freight deliveries.

Yeah, right, as if LEGO don’t fight back.
